Subhash Chandra Bose : 8 Points You Should Not Miss About Him

“Give me blood, I will give you freedom”- the famous line is said by Subhash Chandra Bose. He is a true freedom fighter who left his home to protect mother-land India. 23th January is celebrated as his birth anniversary to share his vision in our youths to encourage them for their country.

Background of Subhash Chandra Bose :

Subhash Chandra Bose was born on 23th January in 1897 at Cuttack in Orissa(odisha). His father was Janakinath Basu, who was a government lawyer and his mother was Prabhabati Devi. His grandfather’s house was at Kodaliya village in 24 pargana district in West Bengal.

Education of Subhash Chandra Bose :

His education started at Cuttack. He successfully passed the entrance exam with second place of Ravenshaw collegiate School at Cuttack. Then he got admitted at Presidency college at Calcutta. But he was suspended from this college because he protested British professor Oten Saheb to insult the Indian students. After that, Asutosh tried to get Subhash to admit in Scottish Church college with Philosophy honors and then he cleared his B.A. exam. His father wanted him to study in England so he went there. In 1920, he ranked fourth place in ICS (Indian Civil Service).

How Subhash Chandra Bose Joined Congress :

After he returned from England, he met Deshbandhu Chittaranjan Das and both of them started their work to save the country. He got massive support of the youth. Under Deshbandhu’s guidance, he was appointed as a teacher in National School and also got a post of secretary to promote Congress Committee. He was then arrested because he leaded a strike for entering the Prince of England to India.

Work Life of Subhash Chandra Bose :

After his imprisonment, he joined as an editor in Bengal provincial Congress Committee. Then he was appointed as a co-editor in ‘Forward’ newspaper. After that, he became chairman of Calcutta Municipality. His popularity, leadership and the power of a country man always scared the British government. So, the British Soldiers always try to put him in prison. He spent his most of the time in prison.

Subhash Chandra Bose leaves Congress :

In 1938 and 1939, Subhash Chandra Bose joined Haripura and Tripuri’s All Indian Congress committee as a president. Inspite of the oppose of Mahatma Gandhi, Subhash Chandra Bose selected as a president in Tripuri. Then he had a disagreement with other members of Congress due to the opinion of the ways to save the country. Then, he left Congress and made ‘Forward Block’ and started to initiate race for gaining independence.

Change in the Plan of Subhash Chandra Bose :

The Second World War begins from 1939. In this time, he changed the plan of independence and decided to take the war as a chance or opportunity for Indian independence. He wanted to spread resistance world wide against the British. But for this, he needed power and weapons and he felt the deficiency of these. And for this, he wanted to go to abroad. But at this time, he had a disagreement with Mahatma Gandhi and Jawaharlal Nehru. British officers this time kept him under close observation. But he took a disguise and fled from there to abroad.

Indian National Army (Azad Hind Fauj) by Subhash Chandra Bose :

He went to Japan, which was then British’s enemy and built a story army and guided them. The soldiers of INA (Indian National Army) called ‘Netaji’. His eyes were filled with the dream of Independent India and he inspired and motivated the soldiers by saying this – ‘Let’s go to Delhi.’ with that determination, INA went to the aim ‘Red fort of Delhi’ by saying ‘Jai Hind’. In 1943, with Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose’s guidance, INA declared war against British and then the war continued. In 1944, INA lifted the Independent National Flag at Imphal in India. But the non co-operation of Japan in the World War weakened INA. This time, Netaji went to a flight for help from Japan’s Taihoku airport. Then, there was no news about him.

Mystery of death of Subhash Chandra Bose :

Many reports claim that he died on 18th August in 1945 by a plane crash. But people of India do not believe his death news. Some researchers even try to prove that Netaji is alive and he is captivated in Siberia’s prison. Some may say that he is killed. Many commissions are made by Indian and other country’s government to find the truth about this mystery.

At the end, we can say that Netaji’s aim was an Independent India. He sacrificed his all life to this purpose. So, we should follow his teachings, quotes and guidance when ever anyone tries to harm India.
